1981年宮城県生まれ
2008年東京藝術大学美術学部絵画科油画専攻卒業
2010年東京藝術大学大学院美術研究科絵画専攻油画・技法材料研究領域修士課程修了

2019年にアーティスト・イン・レジデンスで上海に滞在し、そのスピード感溢れるテクノロジー社会から強いインスピレーションを受ける。日常生活においてデジタルの比重が高まる現在、坪山はツール間で行われる変換作業に興味を寄せる。オンライン上のデータや情報で構築されたもう一つの世界とを繋ぐ「光」をモチーフに、新たな絵画としての表現を模索している。

1981 Born in Miyagi Prefecture.
2008 Graduated with a degree in Oil Painting, Faculty of Fine Arts, Tokyo University of the Arts.
2010 M.F.A. in Oil Painting and Materials for Techniques, Department of Painting, Tokyo University of the Arts.

In 2019, Hitoshi Tsuboyama stayed in Shanghai as an artist-in-residence, and was strongly inspired by its fast-paced technological society. With the increasing weight of the digital in our daily lives, Tsuboyama is interested in the transformation that takes place between tools. Using "light" as a motif to connect with another world constructed with online data and information, he is seeking a new form of expression in painting.
